Q&A

Frequently asked questions

Does chiropractic treatment hurt?

Before treatment we carry out a thorough consultation and examination, and choose the method that suits each person's symptoms. We then carefully adjust the pressure as we treat, so it is almost never painful.

How many sessions does it take to improve?

Results vary from person to person. They depend on whether the symptoms are chronic or acute, and on the cause — injury, congenital factors, work, stress or lifestyle. How long you have had the symptoms and what causes them both affect how well chiropractic works for you.

As a guide, acute symptoms usually take 2–3 sessions and chronic symptoms 2–3 months. Of course, the earlier you come after the pain starts, the better the results.

Is it effective for older people?

Yes, it is. Weakness in the legs and lower back is often caused by slower nerve signals due to pelvic misalignment, or by loss of muscle strength. Treatment restores normal muscle reflexes in the legs so the body can be used correctly, which makes it much easier to stand firm, sit down and get up.

Does it help with weight loss?

If imbalance and skeletal misalignment have disturbed the autonomic nervous system or weakened organ function so that waste builds up easily, treatment can improve this and raise your basal metabolism — so yes, it can help with weight loss. Reviewing daily habits is also essential, so we share advice based on sound nutritional knowledge and some medical knowledge.
